The Canton Fair is an important platform for international trade. On October 10, the Ministry of Commerce held a special press conference on the 136th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair). The 136th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou in three phases from October 15 to November 4.

The exhibition covers a total area of 1.55 million square meters, with 74,000 booths, 55 exhibition areas and 171 special areas. There were more than 30,000 exhibitors in the offline exhibition, including about 29,400 export exhibition enterprises, an increase of nearly 800 over the previous session, and nearly 4,600 new exhibitors.

The Canton Fair has many highlights

First, the theme structure optimization. The first phase focuses on "advanced manufacturing" and the second phase focuses on "quality home furnishing", with an exhibition area of more than 130,000 square meters. The third phase revolves around the "Good Life" to meet emerging consumer demand.

Second, exhibitor quality improvement. New enterprises, new products, new technologies and new forms of business have emerged in large numbers. There were nearly 4,600 new exhibitors. There are more than 8,000 enterprises with titles such as national high-tech, specialized and new "little giant", and single champion of manufacturing industry, an increase of more than 40% over the previous session.

Third, there are more featured products. A large number of innovative products were unveiled, with the first phase showcasing high-end products in fields such as new energy and intelligent vehicles, and the second and third phases highlighting design innovation and personalization. There will be 1.15 million new products, 1.04 million green products and 1.11 million independent intellectual property products on display, all of which are significantly higher than the previous session.

Fourth, supporting activities are prominent. The Canton Fair will also host more than 750 trade promotion activities, an increase of more than 140 over the previous session. Among them, there will be about 400 new product launch activities, which will provide more opportunities for digital and green products.

Fifth, the convenience of participation has been continuously improved. The Canton Fair will continue to implement "pre-registration and remote certificate handling", expand the coverage of certificate handling points, and overseas buyers can apply for certificates at airports and hotels. At the same time, the function of the online platform is further optimized, and the Canton Fair APP is launched to facilitate both exhibitors to access the online platform through mobile phones, to achieve unified online and offline certification, one-stop shop, one-click to find goods, and plan procurement trips.

• Phase I (October 15-19) : Covers electronic appliances, industrial manufacturing, vehicles and two-wheelers, lighting and electrical, hardware tools and other fields.

• Phase 2 (23-27 October) : Covers household goods, gifts and decorations, building materials and furniture.

• Phase 3 (October 31- November 4) : Toys and pregnant women and children, fashion men's and women's clothing, home textiles, stationery, health and leisure.
